Hi All

This is the Cat and Kitten Care web site

I have started going to a table top sale for a local (ish) cat charity.
Donating stuff, supporting the sales that they do.

For such a small group they do an awfull lot of good.

Small charities need all the publicity they can get. I have a lot of respect for all the hard work they have to put into raising sufficient funds to keep going, as well as doing the work for which the charity was set up in the first place.

Well I potted up 20 pots of sweet william, some herbs and some of my more stranger plants and priced them up, about 30 plants in all.
We took them along to the sale yesterday and most had been bought in the first half hour!
I helped raise over £40 pounds yesterday :D
I know its only a small drop in the great big ocean of cat rescue, but it all helps.

For the one in May we will be potting up some more herbs and plants, I hope they go as well.

This caught my eye as I lived in Walthamstow for many years. It sounds like the charity does excellent work. Well done Cathrin - £40 is no mean feat and it's a great contribution to the charity.

PS I recall another cat charity in Walthamstow. A local man used to take in strays and abandoned/unwanted cats and keep them in a small shelter just off the high street. People helped by leaving cans of cat food at the shelter. This was 15 - 20 years ago so it's probably long gone but it was well known at the time.

Just to let you all know, I am potting up plants this weekend for the next sale in June.
I already have a couple more orchids potted and will be doing herbs and plants over the weekend so that they have a chance to grow potted on.

I bought some cheap compost and have loads of spare pots. this time there will be sage, chives, rosemary and parsley all grown from seed. Plus hellibore, primerose and foxglove, again grown from seed (and other herbs and plants I can't think of at the moment :lol:)

I think my Gran used to talk about leaving cat food for someone (she lived near Bakers Arms) but then she fed half the strays in the area anyway :D

Sounds like you've been really busy and set to beat last time's record!!

My Mum's family lived in Walthamstow for years, strange that for a small board, there are 3 of us that have connections with the town. Although none of my family lives there any longer, I do still occasionally pass through when I stay with a friend in the area.
