Having just taken up book binding again after a 12 year pause, I was trawling round the local secondhand bookshops today, looking for suitable tatty books on which I can work. Talking to one bookseller, he mentioned a website www.abebooks.co.uk I'd never heard of it, but I've just been there and it's amazing! I tried searching for what I thought were fairly esoteric books and each time I had a choice of at least half a dozen sellers, sometimes a lot more. Prices seemed reasonable too.
And yes, I came home with 8 books, only 2 of which remotely resemble "tatty". If the forecast is right and the fine weather's returning, I know what I'll be doing!
