You're very welcome here. We're all new to this board so don't feel shy. We're learning our way around things together. For example if anyone one knows what the button for "Insert Ftp link" actually does I'd love to know!

Ann, I think FTP means File Protocol Transfer. H'mm that would be FPT.
Well if that 's what it is I think it was a system in the olden days used to send files electronically. something like that.

Hello, HelloKitty, from another "refugee". The "other" Board is ok but it is awfully big and I have a difficulty keeping up sometimes.
Spoc and Drac run an excellent Board here. You will like it.

What's nice is that the 2 Boards are completely different so there's plenty of room for both of us. This one is small and more intimate and doesn't (yet) have the timewasters who don't really have anything to say, but post anyway. (Call me biased, but I do think we have a very high quality board here and I love all the humour!) On the other hand, www.meezer.net is huge, but that enables them to do some wonderful things. For example, I'm thinking of the time a fund was set up to help cover the cost of veterinary treatment for one of the members who had an elderly ailing rescue cat and couldn't afford the vets bills on her own. Like Vicki, I can't cope with the sheer volume of posts on www.meezer.net either and tend just to dip in here and there. But they've been very good to me. Not least because I've got to know some very nice people there. (Present company definitely included!!) They've also bought the boys two books to sell in their own online shop where the proceeds go to Siamese Rescue in the US. It means the boys are helping their charity as well as PDSA which is especially satisfying. Ann

I have registered for the Meezer Board out of curiosity - I've not actually gone in to look yet. Talking of your products, Mum went off somewhere (I forget where) and came back with a few presents for me, including a pack of notelets with Guess Who on them! I think this time she did it deliberately, knowing that Ann is a correspondent of Xinzerella's (I move in exalted circles )

Xinzerella,
I wonder if she got them in a PDSA shop. When I first got them printed, PDSA ordered a lot of packs to try out in 3 of their shops. I never heard back from them, so I gathered they weren't particularly good sellers.

I'd have to agree with Ann - both boards have a place and I've been blessed to meet some absolutely wonderful people on both of them...but It DOES get a little "overwhelming" at the other one...we're just back from vacation and I found over 1,000 posts to hack my way thru....! While it is nice to have so much diversity of opinion and experiences, whenever you have THAT many people actively posting, you're going to run into a few (or more than a few) that use it for some other need they have other than sharing their enjoyment of their cats....we don't seem to have any of those here, and I find that refreshing... Yes, it's a bit more intimate and cozy here...I want to thank Ann, Spock and Dracs for providing this space for us - it's a lot more like a living room with comfortable chairs that you can sink into...kick your shoes off...and do what we all love to do - talk about life with our cats...! I wonder if she got them in a PDSA shop. Yes, that's right, she handed it to me in a PDSA bag. I can't remember if she got them from York or Chester. York I think. Trouble with charity shops is that you go in looking for the second-hand things, hoping for a bargain - the new items tend to cost more, so get less attention on the whole. Now - who will I write to on my new Spock and Dracs stationery?
