I don't know how they do it, but they do it every day... The Verizon building (telephone company) on the corner of 42nd Street and 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) Looking uptown on 6th Avenue, this gives you a good idea of how tall some of these building are and yes, the little orange things are the window washers... The view from my desk on a clear summer day

My goodness, that's not a job for the faint hearted! I wonder what they get paid. However much it is, I doubt it would be enough to tempt me!
What a view you have Gaby.

Wonderful photos Gaby, the pictures of the window washers reminded me of a very popular black and white print over here of steeplejacks building a skyscraper. They are all sat on a steel girder eating lunch with nothing but fresh air below for what appears to be MILES! Not something I could do

Yeah, I know that photo that was taken I believe when the Empire State Building was pulled in record time...I see these men walk around "up there" all the time...it's amazing...last year, the 2 men fell to their deaths; I think the buidling that went up so fast is about 60 floors talll and takes up an entire block...they are out there in all weathers...windy, snowy, rainy...hot, hot , hotter..and some of the work men don't make it...
If I get an opportunity, I'll record the new building that's being build right next to the Verizon building...

You wouldn't catch me doing that job for a million pounds a day! I don't have a head for heights at all. You have an amazing view from your desk. NY is such an amazing city. I'd love to see it for real one day. But until I do, I can look at your fascinating and beautiful photos.
