To see flowers re-appearing in the garden I've spent some time outside (freezing cold, but no snow) today taking down a tree that was rocking in the high winds last week. The daffodils are just coming out and as you can see from the photo, the snowdrops I planted last year are flowering well. Promise of warm days to come I hope!

oh i'm tired - i read the subject as 'it isn't good'. silly me.
lovely photos chris thank you. spring flowers always cheer me up.
it was a sunny day here today (sunday) the daffidols haven't bloomed - but are almost there. can't wait.
it was the first time in months i was able to be outside in the garden - spent the time pruning and muttering about all the changes i needed to make in the garden. so much to do.
lesley
p.s. the bad thing about not getting snow cover here on vancouver island - is you look at the garden (or the remains of) all winter and worry about all the things you need to do - and when you are going to be able to do them!

Spring flowers have always been my favorite as they herald the beginnings of spring and also of the beautiful seasons ahead…<br>I enjoyed your wonderful photos.

Yes it is! The winters are so long here that it really cheers me up to see the snowdrops appearing and promising me that better weather will be coming eventually.
I have a lovely display of snowdrops in my little patch of front garden and the stretch over the road and they're in full bloom at the moment. My camera doesn't like white, so I've never managed to get a really good shot of them unfortunately.
We've had snow today, not a lot here at the coast, but more's promised I'm told.

Chris - those flowers have cheered me up and made m feel 'springy', even though we are in the middle of a bitterly cold snap. We have some crocuses (croci?) and daffodils emerging, and some flower buds on the fucshia (being a 'plant it and see' type gardener, I don't know if that's usual this early on).
I love the onset of Spring, with everything turing colourful and especially, the orchards in blossom.

All of my daffodils were flattened by the snow the other day, but they're all upright and opening again. Isn't it encouraging.

We've got a whole garden full of gorgeous daffodils out now...though they're being blown sideways at the moment as a gale-force wind seems to have sprung up! Always love to see the first Snowdrops and Crocus as I feel that Spring is finally on it's way with an end to the long winter days. Roll on summer... Gill
