The farm near me breeds horses. They're "Thelwell" horses intended for riding schools, and they're used to people coming to visit them, so they're not nervous of people. Every year, if the weather's fine, I like to walk along the footpath opposite my house to the farm where they live and see how they're getting on. This afternoon, they were grazing in a field which has public access and isn't fenced.

You can just see the sea in the background of the first and last pics.

Awww feels like absolutely AGES since I last saw any foals! It's all lambs and calves around here! Adorable but not quite as sweet as foals!

The third and fourth pics look rather like Welsh Mountain ponies....got the dished profile distinctive to the breed.

Very strange about there being no foals around here though as nearly everybody up here in this part of Northumberland rides. I think I'd best keep the digital camera on me at all times just in case I do see some.
