I think you're definitely onto something. I'm fairly sure the start of line 3 is "With happy people and that the last word has to be miles, in order to rhyme with Isles, so it's a case of juggling the words around perhaps.

Line 4 the square object looks like what they used to use for dynamite blasting I think it was called a primer, would this mean the word is 'resprit'
As in :- Seeking resprit in the Channel Isles

So there you are Cathrin! We need you! It's got Orange Pekoe written on the side, so I'm reasonably sure the box in line 4 is a tea chest. I'm not sure if that's a letter T on the top or a shovel!
My guess for the line is "Seeking rest, reaches the Channel Isles", but I wouldn't be putting any money on it being right!

4. Seeking rest in the Channel Isles (res + T in t[ea])?
There still has to be at least one line missing, otherwise the rhyme scheme's odd.

I think you've cracked line 7 Cathrin. I feel it should be "goes home", but for the life of me I can't see where the "es" comes in.
This one's been a real stinker. I haven't seen Kaye around recently, she usually has a go at them too.

Thinking about this Ann it sounds like a mutany that went wrong and the ship ran onto the rocks just a thought Cat Cathrin, there's a link to the full story at the start of the thread. It was 2 passenger ships racing each other en route to Jersey. The Stella sank on Casquet Reef because the captain kept her going at full speed despite the fact they were sailing through thick fog.

8 n x 2 ./. i Where does this come in? I have absolutely no idea! It looks as though "nin" should come in somewhere, but that's as far as I've got. Is there a phrase "shoot the captain's log", because, like Cathrin, that's all I can make of it.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you - and getting nowhere.

Not convinced about "full of smiles" (3) or "goes now" (7), but there you go. I was vaguely close to "for oh!" but not close enough obviously. It still needs another line, though.
Hey ho. What's next?
