As I haven't read every single thread on here, (too many!) I hope I'm not repeating anything that's gone before......but, does anyone play mad cat games with their feline friends?!
My neighbours watch in amazement as I play chase with the Delinquents, up and down the garden - there's nothing they like better than for me to chase them, and the noisier the game, the better!
My dearly loved Jethro, who died a year ago this month, also loved to ride piggyback, just like a child. Rosco will also do this on occasions as well. And he loves to be carried around in the washing basket, too!

We've had favourite cat toys, but I think this is a new one Sue.
The boys and I don't really have any games, I think they were probably already set in their ways when they came to me. Alexander, who was just a kitten when he moved in, and I had several though.
He too liked being chased and the cue was me clapping my hands and saying "Where's that cat?". He shot off and hid, always in the same place and then waited for me to come and "get" him. It usually involved a dash up the stairs and it always had to be repeated several times. (Who needs aerobics?!) He also used to like going for a walk with me and would often sit by the door letting me know it was time the pair of us went out. Another game was the bedtime ritual. I would get ready for bed and then come down to get him. Alexander would be hiding, usually under the coffee table, occasionally under the dining table, pretending he didn't want to go to bed. I would have to retrieve him and carry him upstairs, purring his head off by this stage. This ritual was repeated every night without fail, regardless of whether I had visitors or not.

Don't know about chasing cats up and down gardens... sounds way too energetic to me As for slightly mad games, well I did once buy Cathrin a pair of fur gauntlets for the winter (rabbit on leather) She tried them on and Silk came to inspect them. So she stroked him with one and he decided it was the best cat toy ever and proceeded to attack them like there was no tomorrow. Now Silk is normally the gentlest cat I have ever known and if he thinks he's hurt you he is mortified. However in this case it was a matter of 'The Gloves are ON!' and so it was no holds barred as he attcked them with gusto. Full claws, teeth and kicking with those back legs of his (which are very powerfull...mind you he does have 18lbs of cat to back them up with.. ) From then on whenever he saw them it was 'Time to kick it up rough' and needless to say, they never got used for keeping my wifes hands warm, instead they were the 'Lets let Silk have five minutes of attack time toys' well as long as they lasted that was, (around six months) Am afraid the others are pretty normal (if that can apply where felines are concerned) you know the Hefelump and woozle hunts in the bedroom, the 'Light Fairy Hunt' (Felias favourite) and things like that.

Hi everyone .. this is my first post. I am happy to find this site! MingSu passed on in 1994, but we used to play some hilarious games. I've never met a cat so smart. we would play hide and seek. I would hide and Ming would come looking for me. The longer it took to find me the louder her meow would become. She had a very distinctive, classic Siamese meow! When she finally did find me she would take off running and I would have to give chase. another game we played was this: I would stand still with one hand in the pocket of my bluejeans, I would wiggle the fingers inside that pocket until Ming noticed. She would then run across the room and climb up my leg. Sometimes her claws would dig in all the way through my jeans . That part wasn't so fun Once a visitor stood like that with her hand in her pocket and got a huge suprize ! I could go on all day about my cats.. Guess I'll save something for later..

With Ann's help I should now be able to post a couple of photos to illustrate my previous message - thanks Ann! First, there's a piccie taken several years ago, of Jethro having a piggy-back (yep, that's me who's being the piggy!)..... Then a photo of Jethro and Rosco in the washing basket, having enjoyed a ride around the house..... and finally, one of Rosco, taken at the end of last year, still patiently waiting for another ride!

My Oriental neuter, Shastri, likes to ride the Wheelie Bin. I don't put him on it myself - he hitches a lift by stopping me just as I get to the wall; he jumps on the wall and from there he jumps on the bin. If he slides off, he jumps back on again. The other day we were playing this game, and I turned round and there were three little girls goggling at us.

Pen-Duick and I too play hide and seek. As he's an indoor cat, we play in the bedroom, around, on and under the bed... We also chase each-other all around the place!
