Now that I've got my computer back, I can catch up a bit here.... I could be mistaken but I think he's growing....do you remember this one - at 4 weeks, still at the breeder... and this one, at 6 weeks... when he first came home at 8 weeks, playing with his favorite toy... This was taken this weekend - 4 1/2 months, still playing with his favorite toy (Daddy's new ones, same size as the old ones)... and one with Mom (Ribbons).....(yes, at 4 1/2 months, he's just a tiny smidgon smaller...! By next week...?)... Miles

miles, fantastic! bailey is growing into a handsome young cat. 4 1/2 months already. i wonder if he will be much larger than his mother? did you see the father?
the baby pix are always lovely. i hope he doesn't resent this when he is a teenager!
glad you are back. i wondered where you, deb and bailey had gone!

I don't think cats ever believe that they've grown. They just think the rest of the world shrinks around them.
I remember Duke (a ginger and white moggie, that had a coat softer than any Angora) sitting and staring at an empty tissue box, accusingly. Wondering why he could now only fit his head in, where once he could completely fit in one quite happily.

Lovely pics Miles. Yup, he's growing (all that great food) but he's still just a lil' baby kitty! Getting more handsome all the time.

Great to have you back after your enforced absence. The last picture but one has to be my favourite. And yes, hasn't he grown!

Lesley, We were fortunate in that we were able to visit Bailey at least once or twice a week at the breeder from the time he was born, and got to know his Dad (a large blue point) and Ribbons very well. We suspect he will be as big (or bigger..?) than his Dad... Miles

Ann, The second pic has always been a favorite of mine...he has that look - an absolute determined curiousity...and that's our Bailey all over...! He's always been that way, from the time he first opened his eyes...he has that unquenchable desire to know not just the "what" but also the "why" and "how" of his universe....with, of course - both predictable and UNpredictable results....(when we hear an unexpected "crash" in the next room, we instinctively know who's the cause...!)... Here's the whole sequence of shots - I was in the walk-in kennel at the breeder's with Bailey, Ribbons, and his 3 littermates (then 6 wks old)...I had set my camera case down on a ledge and taken out my camera...Bailey was watching me intensely the whole time....he then proceeded to pull himself up on a can that happened to be under the ledge...none of the other kittens expressed any interest (or ability) to do this.... He had seen me open the bag, take the camera out, and close the bag....he just HAD to know what was in there.... I was just stunned watching him do this...as I said, none of the other kittens were either curious or interested in following him, and not physically capable of getting themselves up there....once again I knew we had chosen the right kitten...and I also knew we were gonna have our hands full...!! miles, i wonder if there is a connection... our first siamese, monty, was male and a bluepoint. monty was into everything! including getting locked into a neighbours basement, another neighbours garage, and yet another neighbours house (2 of these couples were on honeymoons! don't ask how we got him out either!). cleo and coco would rather sleep - they do get into things, but not anywhere near as much as monty did. monty did everything at high speed too. the girls take their time!

The comment about "unexpected crashes" rang a real bell! (With Alexander there was also the "unexpected splash" when he fell in the bath and into the lavatory.)
There often seems to be a certain kitten who stands out from the rest of a litter and if you're lucky enough to find one, life is never the same again.
When my parents went to get our very first Siamese, brother and sister sealpoints, the breeder made a point of saying that one particular male wasn't for sale. He was such a character that they'd already nicknamed him Charlie the Spiv and they were planning to keep him themselves. They knew precisely which kitten he was as he was the only one with a kink at the end of his tail. A week or two after our kittens came home, my Mum was fussing the male and realised we'd got the cat with the kinky tail. Somehow, Charlie had wriggled his way into the basket and made sure he came with us. Both kittens were well settled with us by then and the breeders hadn't contacted us, so he stayed and led us all a merry dance for the rest of his life. We wouldn't have been without him.
You are going to have a magical time with Bailey, although you may end up prematurely aged!
Ann
PS Looking forward to seeing the WWF series on this Board!
