Ribbons came to us four months ago, one month after Bailey...she had been a kennel cat and had spent almost all of her life in a cage. She was bred (accidently, we were told) on her first heat, and had one litter of kittens - Bailey and his three siblings. I'd had my eye on her since the first visit we made to the breeder - she seemed so sweet, loving and gentle...she would hop right up on us when we went to visit Bailey, purring and headbutting (ooohhh, if there was only a way we could take her, too...!). As it turned out the breeder had decided (thankfully) that she wanted out of the Siamese kitten business after this first litter, decided to sell all the kittens and Ribbons too, and a series of events transpired (that "meezer portal"...?) that made it possible for us to take her...and we couldn't be happier....
She was a bit thin, tired and worn from nursing kittens and her spay when she came to us.....
She re-bonded with Bailey (they're inseparable now) and settled in very quickly.....
Not being much more than a kitten herself, she loves (lives!) to play...sometimes even more so than Bailey...being a kennel cat, she probably didn't get much of a chance to "be a kitten"....she's making up for that now....
Her favorite game is fetch, her fetch object of choice is a sparkle schmousie or a "scrumple" ( a balled-up piece of paper)....and she's got lots of 'em....she'll pull them all out of the toybox and just wait for a willing partner....
And if you don't happen to notice she's waiting, she'll let you know she's there and ready to play...
She can jump...oohh lordy, she can jump (if you remember the "Air Bailey" series, you can see what side of his family Bailey got THAT ability from...!)....
She's not the lovebug that Bailey is, and has never been a lapsitter...it's funny - if you pick her up and remain standing she'll settle right into your arms, purring and headbutting...if you sit, she'll hop down...but she wants to be with you, and will always settle in close by to where you're sitting, or if you're moving she's your "Escort Meezer", following you everywhere....if you're working in the kitchen, she's right there with you "helping" (usually they both "help")....she's not as "vertical" as Bailey, and the kitchen counters are about as high as she wants to go....
She's an absolute sweetheart..so easy going...she has the cutest little "trill" to her voice when she speaks to you....Bailey is "all boy", and can be a bit obstinate at times, but Ribbons is such a little lady...you tell her "no", and she stops - no arguments, whining or complaining....you say "get down, sweetie" - she gets down....it's amazing how sweet and loving she is, and we are soooo very lucky to have her....!
