Ok....this is my first time trying this! I have hopefully uploaded a photo using webspace. I have followed Ann's clear and helpful advice but if it doesn't work, it will be my fault! This is the birthplace and family home of the writer Thomas Hardy, in Brockhampton, Dorset. It's at the top of a dusty track and the area must be almost as it was in his time. He wrote 'Far From The Madding Crowd' here. The surrounding area is the setting for his novels. (Fingers crossed this works....!!)

You did it!! Well done!
What a lovely cottage, it's enough to inspire anyone.

Hi Maria Lovely photo, this is definitely one for my places to visit as my daughter Tracy and I have seemed to take holidays with a literacy theme behind them. Thank you. Marjorie

This must be the best shot I have ever seen of Hardy's cottage! What a beautiful picture - it ought to be framed!
I hope you won't mind if I correct one small thing though - the place is BOCKHAMPTON, not BROCKHAMPTON!
Maria, I am enjoying your superb photos and observations of the County I live in - did you take any pics of Chesil Beach and the Fleet, from the top of Abbotsbury Hill? Now that really is a fantastic sight!

Thank you, everyone, for the kind words about the picture! (Blush!). I suppose it was a 'lucky shot', although it's hard to go wrong with somewhere so pretty on a sunny day! I did have to frame it to cut out my friend's handbag though, which was sat on the path in the foreground of the original photo!
Catnip - oops, sorry for the spelling error!! I didn't get to the top of Abbotsbury Hill as my companions were unwilling to do the walk. (Spoilsports!). I would have liked to have visited St Catherine's Chapel. I have seen pictures of the Fleet and Chesil Beach and it certainly looks to be a wonderful sight. Next time!
