After the bombing, Coventry collected all the medieval houses and re erected them on Spon Street. Some are from the 10th C. This is the room where Mary Queen of Scots was held. I'm standing against the far wall. This is the Old Cathedral ...and the new one Whee! Did it! One more. Some of the cats on the boat. Linda

Those picture are fascinating, Linda. I also like to check out the history of a place when I visit. I'm not one for holidays on a hot, sandy beach...I'd much rather 'know' a place for the stories it can tell me.
By the way - I can't spot you in the picture of the room where Mary, Queen of Scots was held. (?)
Have you read Antonia Fraser's biography of Mary? It's a little long-winded in places, but very engaging.

I love the medieval houses, wouldn't it be wonderful to live in one of them!
I too like to explore when I'm somewhere new.

We're not ones to lay about on a beach or hotel either...we love to travel and to explore everywhere we go....when we went on a cruise to the Caribbean on our honeymoon 2 years ago we couldn't wait for the ship to dock so we could be off exploring...! I'll post some pics - this is where we'd love to have our retirement home...!
