Could the last line have something to do with "adore" (a door)? I'm not sure. I'm stuck now. I've been working on, "after you", "ladies first" "goodbye", and "farewell". I like "You say farewell" the best, but have no idea if it's correct. It would help if we could work out line 4. I have a feeling it's probably the Victorian equivalent of "Give us a break oh we implore"! (It even scans!) |

Here's the solution:
Our Puzzled Girls
Dear puzzled girls, who bravely pore

Are not the brain and temper sore,

Much more than ever heretofore,

You say, politely, "Pray give o'er?".
According to the examiner's report, there were 4 perfect solutions.
