Well, the first line obviously starts out with:
"Dear stoned girls" ..... (LOL)

Or "dear crazed girls"!
But I'm staying out of this one for a while as I've had more practice than anyone else.

Well done Kaye! Ok, so this is what we have so far.

Line 2 has one syllable too many, and the only way I could see how we could lose one is to abbreviate "over" to "o'er". The question marks should now equate to the number of syllables missing in each line.

The forth line plant is nettle or thistle I think in the third line from the bottom that that plant looks like ivy sa bed/sleep/rest fr/rope/pen/thisle-e o implor sa bed/sleep/rest fr/open this o
ok the only bit I seem to be able to make sense of is forth line: open this o we implore
Last line: Us a open *** rage over for
prob totaly wrong lol

It's a pen!! I couldn't work out what it could be, but I think you're right. Only thing is, there's a surplus letter I think. Thistle minus e = thistl, so
open this tl oh we implore??
Or have I missed something?
Do you think the girl in the bed is ill? Could it be something to do with ill or sick or even ailing? I think the sa in front of the bed is just "Say".
Don't underestimate yourself Cathrin!

As I was typing the last reply, I happened to look at the advert and it was all about brain tumours. Apt or what?!

Could MMM stand for 3000? Is the editor asking readers for more entries? I'm not sure, I've been doing it offline, but I can't get that line. Ooh, ooh, ooh, I take that back, it's just come to me "But in by thousands, papers pour" After a couple of false starts, I'm pretty sure they are.

Things seemed to be slowing down, so I've added my thoughts. Feel free to disagree if you think what I've put is wrong.
Any ideas on what the berries/fruit are? It seems as though the word might be explore, but I can't make expl into anything that fits the pic.
And what is the thing that looks like a disembodied moustache in the last line?

Grapes (I did think ivy but couldn't work it in) I think the other 'thing' is a Bow, but I can't work that in either.

I thought I'd cracked it with "who are sore" until I remembered it's haws not hoars for the fruit. (Plus it's still a syllable short.)
What do hops look like? Who p.......ore.
How many words are there left ending in ore that could fit into the context? Deplore?
I also just realised that line 6 didn't actually make sense unless you changed "some" to "no". If you take the drawing to be a scene rather than a sea, it fits.
