It's appeared! As if by magic, wasn't there when I looked after posting, told you I was useless at this technology bit! Looks a bit pixellated to me but I don't know how to get round that. Maria, hope you get there, the sights are amazing, just be careful what you eat and drink. Will try posting some more pics on a different thread.

Not quite by magic I'm afraid - I gave it a little tweak. (When you use photobucket, literally all you have to do is copy and paste the code they give you into your message. You don't need to click on the picture button here.)

Chris - I saw the photo this time! What an amazing view! Is that from your hotel? I do hope I can get there. (Thanks for the food and drink tip. I guess I should pack a supply of Arretts!!!!)

Magician Ann, Thanks I'll have another go when I have more time posting a few more. Maria Yes, the photo is from our hotel balcony, the white buildings you can see are the main part of the hotel(Mena House), it was originally a hunting lodge. They had photo's inside from the 1920/30's and it was surrounded by nothing but sand. Now Cairo is at the back door and the pyramids are at the front! The gardens were beautiful, and as we arrived at 5am it was pitch black night, it was a quite sight to be confronted by a pyramid that close when the sun rose! Have to say, they are even more spectacular when you go up to the plateau and get 'up close and personal'.Stunning!

It sounds wonderful Chris. I have a feeling that is the hotel where my friend stayed on her recent trip (the name rings a bell). I can't imagine how fantastic it is to see the pyramids, but I hope I find out in August!
