I'm loving this thread. I think what's intriguing me the most is the places people have lived. Seems like a lot of us have lived abroad at various times.

That's an interesting thing about the 4 favourite TV shows. I've noticed the same thing somewhere else... there's a difference between '4 favourite shows around now' and '4 all-time favourite shows'. Most people seem to put their all-time favourites whereas I put the ones that are available now. So then I see someone put 'Northern Exposure' and 'Babylon 5' (hey Mark!) and think "but those are my all-time favourites too - why didn't I put them?"
Maybe we should have two sections in that quiz :-).
For me all-time favourite TV shows (that I'm remembering):
(1) Babylon 5 (2) Northern Exposure (3) Star Trek Voyager (4) Farscape
When I was younger I used to watch something called Tales of the Gold Monkey which I never saw again. Anybody else know what it was? Don't tell me it did something politically incorrect that sank it without trace? Grrrrrr.... Like 'Threadneedle Street'. I was really enjoying that :-(.

Mine are all on now, even though 2 of them are oldies. "Upstairs Downstairs" is currently being repeated on one of the digital channels on a Sunday evening. I rarely watched it first time round as I usually had other things to do in the evening, so I'm very much enjoying it now.
All time favourites would probably be, in no particular order:
Riverboat Jewel in the Crown Brideshead Revisited Barchester Chronicles

Mine are all on now too - because as I've said before (probably way too often ;D) we do not watch TV. However we do have quite a few TV series on dvd now, and nowadays tend to watch them like watching a night of TV (i.e. we will put on an episode of this and an episode of that instead of watching a whole disk of another.
The advantage is (from my point of view) no adverts, often uncut episodes, no time schedule, as in no one is telling me I must sit down at 6 to see X on BBC2, or later than I really wanted to stay up, and the all important .... pause button. Oh and no watching some other stupid programme just because it is on, or on before/after the one I wanted to watch, and I'm too lazy to do anything else.
A mutli-region player (available from any Richer Sounds) means I can shop either side of the atlantic and find series that I had plain forgotten about, or that just aren't available here. (dangerous on my wallet though) Reviews on the likes of Amazon or IMDB let me know about series I don't know much about (sometimes), and a little patience (a virtue I don't have much of), and shopping around, can get them at prices I can afford rather than the silly prices they came out at.

I just thought of another place I'd love to visit-Valencia, Spain. Two of my favorite tennis players, David Ferrer and Juan Carlos Ferrero, are from Valencia. I'd love to take a tour of Spain with my favorite tennis players. I'm not Spanish, but it seems I have a huge crush on players from Spain, particularly Rafael Nadal (although I'm old enough to be his mother, sigh) and David and Juan Carlos.
