i'm not kidding, my cats are working cats. coco, is responsible for the outside. she spends any awake time on the window sills, watching. any new noise, she's on it! cleo, protects all within the house! really. guards the doors of whichever rooms the children are in. any insects that dare to come into the home; she follows them intently (until mom takes care of it). neither cleo or coco ever switch jobs. i know other cats have responsibilities. what does everyone elses cats do? or am i nuts? job sharing at the multiple cat homes?
lesley (okay, so its canada day here, hubby is off - well not really off, i sent him out with the children now i obviously have time on my hands!)

Liffey is responsible for Human Comfort and Hugs. The other two will only share this role on the rare occasion that Liffey is busy elsewhere.

Some of The Delinquents work too!!! Actually, Faro has two occupations - he is Chief of Security as well as Head of Rodent Control. He regularly patrols his patch, seeing off intruders, and he also keeps the small furry critters from invading. Elsa is Keeper of the Fridge - she guards it jealously and is always first on the scene to sound the alarm if the door opens! Rosco is Chief Layabout - totally unemployable. Any effort causes him to crash out on the floor. (I suppose he could be useful for spotting the fluff collecting underneath the furniture though......) Astra is also a lady of leisure - being just over 12 years old now she has retired gracefully and spends a good part of her day reclining on the top bunk of her tea trolley bed. (Did you know old fashioned wooden tea trolleys make excellent cat bunks when furnished with a comfortable pillow and/or blankets?!) Jake has yet to find a suitable occupation. Being the baby of the family he is still learning the ropes but it's possible he might become a trainee Rodent Controller under Faro, who seems to be his role model! Aren't we lucky to have such talented cats?!!!

My job is to rid the world of grey rubber mice, and to keep my Ladyperson warm in bed. I also have to tell everybody when it is 8 a.m. as that is time for breakfast, I am then responsible for ensuring that our food is measured correctly and if there is a smidge too much it is my job to round it up and eat it - can't stand litter! Misty's job to is to keep Ladyperson's back warm in bed, to watch the doves in the bird bath and make sure that they don't drown! She also has sole responsibility for pushing the wrong buttons on the computer to ensure that these electronic messages disappear into the ether never to be seen again. Any pens or pencils left on tables have to be patted off and today an emery board was put into the water bowl to soften it. Apart from that we don't do much.
