Every now and then, about once a year, usually when the weather's good, I get an unaccustomed burst of energy. Yesterday was the day. Having finished the spring clean of my living room earlier in the afternoon, which involved lugging heavy leather furniture and my even heavier computer desk around, I actually volunteered, yes volunteered, to help my neighbour dig over a weed infested flower bed. We had two 1½ hour sessions, finally finishing at around 8 pm. I came indoors and settled down to watch a couple of hours television, then discovered, when I tried to get up to make a cup of coffee that my back had "seized". Doing a good imitation of an 80 year old, I eventually made it up off of the settee and into the kitchen.
Are there other board members discovering the hard way that they no longer have the bodies and muscles of a 20 year old?
Surprisingly, I haven't noticed any repercussions today. Yet.

Ann, as this happens to me at least twice a day - like when I try to get up in the morning and again if I've been sitting, I sympathise! I am short sighted but until I fail the legal limit for driving, I won't wear glasses. Malcolm is long sighted but can't read without glasses. Due to my colouring I am also photophobic and wear sunglasses almost all the time. However, until a couple of months ago I could read the smallest of small print. Not any longer. Linda

Ann has mentioned her back. She'll remember the day we were driving up to Falkirk earlier this year and stopped at Coldstream for a coffee. I'd been moving some heavy pots around the previous day, which resulted in me walking around Coldstream bent double until my spine decided to co-operate with the rest of my body.

Funny you should mention the unaccustomed burst of energy. I got all energetic and busy too (after months of listlessness). Yes, I've got an email here that I sent out to someone; it's dated 18 June and says other friends got energetic at the same time. Just thought I would mention it Must be the weather, as you say.
