One of the best kept secrets of the north east is the number of beautiful beaches we have. A friend and I stopped off at one on our way home from Alnwick earlier this week. It's called Druridge Bay and is one of the biggest. I took 7 pictures and have pieced them together to give a panoramic view. It's too long to post on the board itself, but if you Click here you can see it. It stretches as far as the eye can see in both directions. If only we had the climate to make the most of the beaches! It was actually blowing quite hard when I took the pics and not as pleasant as it looked actually being there.

...not many sun bathers... And that's just the way we like it Lesley! ;D Druridge is one of my most favourite places and it has loads of fabulous nature reserves along the full length which is around 7 miles or so ;D I've spent countless hours over the years in the area and I never tire of it It occasionally gets a dozen or so folks on it on Bank Holidays IF it's sunny but otherwise it's one of the best beaches for just enjoying yourself in peace and quiet
