I have just half-bound a bible in silk and calf. Does anyone recommend protecting the cloth such as with a scotch-guard type spray?

Oh wow, sounds fabulous! Do you have any pics you could post of it?
'Fraid I have no idea about protecting the cloth though. The only time I've worked with silk is when I've made doublures and they're inside the book and thus well protected already.

Hello Ann, Yes, I'll send a pic if I can work out the procedeure. The silk is paper-backed silk bookcloth; I think not as fine as the type you used. So, how can I post an image other than just email it to you?

There's a thread on the General Board about posting pics using a photo hosting website here. catsup.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=216Alternatively, you can upload them to your own web space (I know you have your own website). When you type a reply, click on the picture icon on the "Add Tags" toolbar that appears when you post a reply. Two "image tags" will appear in brackets. Type the address of the picture between them and it should appear. eg [image tag]www.mywebsite/myfolder/mypicture.jpg[/image tag] If all else fails, email me the pics, I'll upload them and send you the code to copy and paste!
