Roxie has a new toy. Unfortunately it is not one I am happy about. She is not normally a lap kitty but somehow, she has taken it into her furry head that when I am sitting at my computer in the evening it's lap-time at least for about five to ten minutes.
She has suddenly decided that the cursor on my computer screen makes a dandy play toy. As I was trying to type around it a few nights ago, she discovered it was fun to watch it move around and began following it with her eyes and then her head. She crept closer to the screen and then...swipe! There went the paw. She has very large paws.
So of course I had to make the cursor dance around the screen so she could be amused. What else could I do? We are, after all, here for their amusement are we not?
I thought she might like to view a cat video. I went to YouTube and found some good ones but she showed only a mild interest at other cats looking in mirrors or chasing each other or doing whatever people like to video cats doing. Then I logged onto the old "Hamster Dance" website. Remember that one? Yes it's still there. Lots of movement. Roxie still was not impressed but I was amused I had forgotten how silly it was. But for Roxie it was the cursor or nothing.
So now I have to contend with a very large cat on my lap when I try to type on my keyboard. She only seems interested in the evening though so if I am sneaky and log on during the day while she is napping, the cursor and I are safe. But in the evening we are fair game.
