Having worked in the Met Office for several years immediately after I left school, I still take a keen interest in new scientific techniques for ensuring weather forecasts are as accurate as possible. So when I saw this in one of the shops in the village, I just had to buy it.
It reads as follows:
Reliability Guaranteed!
Hang Outide.
If the tail is dry Fair
If the tail is wet Rain
If the tail waves Windy
If the tail is white Snow
If they tail is frozen Cold
If the donkey has fallen over Earthquake
(The tail is a piece of rope that sticks out from the board.)
I was half expecting to have to pay with cold roast chicken. It could be something The Boys dreamt up!
