Has anyone here seen Cats and Dogs? What is it like? On Amazon it says it's mostly for dog people as the dogs are cast as the heroes.
Do you think people who like cats (especially if they attend cat shows) might feel annoyed by it, or amused?

;D Yes as usual the dogs are the Heroes cats the villians, still enjoyed it. must say my cats are tv addicts when something catches there eye, mostly nature programmes, the Grand Prix and vet progs. They have never sat and watched a film untill i put on cats and dogs(loved the sound effects too),they have never been so good for so long either lol, they did the same thing again with Stuart Little. Would be interested to hear if other cats have watched either too. Jayne

Well mine haven't watched any like that, but Freyja (our Abby) is a real western fan!!!
No realy she is! We used ot just joke about it, about how it was coincidental that she would sit on my lap casualy watching the TV whenever we watched a western, but over time it has become aparent that she does seem to settle for a whole film, only if it's a western, and we still don't realy know why.
She doesn't mind a good action film, but will normaly wander off here and there throughout the film, but if it's a western (and especialy if it's Tombstone) she will stay for the whole 2hrs + . We think it must be all those rough hunks she enjoys. As she is definitley a cat who likes mens rather than women.

Freyja thinks Clints alright, but she prefers Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell, but she does seem to like films with Gene Hackman in them, She also prefers these 'modern westerns' over the old ones. Although I did notice she quite liked The Last Gunslinger....
You would think all that banging and noise would scare her off, but it doesn't seem to, instead she is content to glue herself to my lap for the duration, and if something makes her jump, she just grips a little harder with her claws.
Abby claws seem to be unaturaly sharp, I've known Siamese's, Tonk's and Burmese cats even a Korat, but I've never known claws like hers, very thin and VERY sharp.

Mine enjoy TV. When they first came to us they would sit and stare at it for ages. Now they only get excited by animals on screen, or anything that moves quickly.
They like Snooker and go around to the back of the TV to look for the balls.
Does anyone remember those video's that were made especially for cats a few years back? I never saw one, but apparently they had moving patterns on the screen and fish etc. I wonder if anyone tried these on their cats. Maria

;D Yes i have one-Thanks for reminding me Maria. Mine all love it,but some of the sound effects on it they dont like ie-a cat that barks. My daughter has a RSPB video-Birds-which is a real tease. Freyjas claws sound like kittens claws then-ouch.

I had one too but the cats totaly ignored it .... typical...
However, I don't know if any of you remember a series on BBC called Supersense, in it they featured bird flight in a way I'd never seen before, it was almost as if the birds were superimposed on the screen.
Anyway, however they did it, the cats LOVED it, and would all sit round watching it in total facination.
Maria maentioning cats following snooker balls round the back of the tv, did remind me of Freyja, who used to try the same with the motorbikes when they showed them racing. (as I said, a strange girl that one) ;D

Well, I watched the Cats and Dogs video. It's fairly innocuous, but more aimed at children. (I was on the computer at the same time though)
