I've just got a new toy. It's the tiniest digital camera you've ever seen. Here it is balanced on a matchbox. Believe it or not, it actually takes short video clips. Once I download some software that will turn them into a manageable size, I'll post links to one or two. So anyone who's wondering why they haven't had an email from me for a while, now you know - I've been far too busy playing at being a film director! The pictures it takes are best at close range, anything over about 4 feet and they're pretty blurred. But look at this one I got of Dracs when he decided I'd spent too much time on the computer and not enough attending to him. This one of Spock, in conversational mode (when isn't he?!), isn't quite so sharp, but it's still not bad. Ann

Lesley, we're not talking megabucks here. It only cost me £40, which is about $60. I bought it online from www.gadgets.co.uk/lespion.html Postage was free and they even threw in a magnetic chess set as well! I just got this one of Spock this morning. He was sitting on my newspaper at the time! As you can see, I'm still having a bit of a problem lining up the image in the viewfinder. A bit more of Spock and a bit less of the ceiling would have been better! Everything's so tiny. But it's still early days. Ann

ann, i just love photos of spock and dracs. spock really looks like he 'knows everything'.
and i would order a tiny camera right away - but my account (husband) would cry. he's still trying to work through the moving bills - however mother's day is on may 12th - perhaps the children would like to order it for me?? i think i'll save the address, just in case. oops the 2 year old has my credit card! oh no! what will i do??
lesley checked website; oh so sad, no overseas orders. well, i suppose i might find it over here somewhere. i'll have to look out for this. i saw a tiny watch camera on t.v. (worn by a rather infamous member of the beatles). how could my life be complete without these things??

I've just had a browse through Google and it looks like it mightn't be available in the US. The company who make it are European based. Try www.amazon.co.uk. They stock it and will ship to the US. Their postage rates aren't extortionate either. I suppose an AAA battery is the same both here and in the US??? (I'm still using the one that came with the camera by the way, so they're very economical on power.) Ann

I have had the pleasure of seeing this camera and it really is amazing!! Its tiny-like a toy keyring! And for £40 a pure bargain!
That picture of Dracs is just lovely! It really shows him off. Those amazing eyes of his - he almsot looks like a statue. I just cant belevie that they are both 14/15yrs old!! They look so young.
I really want a digital camera! There are so many cases when it would be so useful. With so many cats (silly cats) there are so many p-uurrr-fect digital camera moments!!

well, the party is over. hubby walked in the room while i was checking out amazon.co.uk for tiny cameras. apparently he feels since i have several antique cameras (like i can use them!) 2, 35mm cannon's (manual) 1, 35mm automatic and... a digital (new for my birthday last fall)... apparently i don't need another!!! as if he would know! how could anyone do without a tiny 'spy-like' camera! some people! ok, so i collect things - perhaps i should collect a new husband! just kidding - who else would put up with all this stuff. perhaps these kids would grow up a little bit faster so i could go back to work. *sigh* soon. lesley

Lesley.
Of course you need another camera! Keep working on the Mother's Day idea!
I used it to take video clip of Spock in urban terrorist mode this morning. I heard the war cry echoing through the air and got outside just in time to see his quarry vanishing over a fence and running for home. I managed to get Spock pacing around looking macho with tail still bushed out.

ann, 'urban terrorist' - fantastic description! our first siamese (a bluepoint) was terrific at getting 'squirrel tail'. monty was a urban terrorist kitty for sure. cleo and coco rarely do. such ladies. lol.
and yes, i forgot about mother's day - sometimes i forget i am a mother (briefly i think maybe these are someone else's children) then it hits me.
