Silk's posts on the Mystery Cats threads have given me an idea.
Do you like the idea of a third Forum where members could post their work, or when it's very long like some of Silk's, links to where it can be downloaded? I happen to know that some of our members are talented artists as well as writers, so artwork would be welcome too.
In view of Silk's comment about not copying and using the work displayed elsewhere - which I fully endorse, I think it would also be a good idea to make it password protected so that only members can access it.
(Who knows, it might have the added benefit of encouraging some of our many guests to join up.)
Any ideas for a name for it?
Ann

You wouldn't be implying that I can be a bit long winded now would you Ann??
;D ;D ;D ;D
PS: sounds like a good idea to me, especialy as I may be pulling down cats-paw for a while (having a little trouble with my ISP and spamming again) while I consider moving it to a new permenant home, (which if I did, it would be time for a much needed update and re-decoratation job)

I think its a great idea Ann. It would give everyone a place to show off their creativity......and us less talented folks a bit of inspiration. Go for it ! LD

Thanks Deb! You've just told me exactly what I wanted to hear!
I put the new Forum up yesterday, but once I entered the password, it continued to let me in subsequently, regardless of whether I was logged in or not! I assumed it simply recognised my IP number, but I wanted to double check to make sure there wasn't a glitsch in the system. You've just done that for me and confirmed that all is well.
I'll now send a bulk email to all the members with the password.

Hi Ann Got the password, and it worked okay, Sure I will have something for everyone to browse at shortly, but at present have finaly cracked the plot problems that for nigh on 8 months now have been driving me nuts with 'Farewell Mr Fluffy' , so am a little distracted. at the moment. What I would like to know though is how other members would prefer to see things like stories? .... Remembering a Ben Gun tale can range from 5,000-40,000 words, averaging around 20,000 split into several samll acts or chapters which is still only a couple of hours read... honest) So would people like them: - Posted direct to the board, under 1 message, but maybee split , like with replies (Ann would have to give me admin powers to that, to lock it or something untill all sections were up, but I would happily do it if required)
- Or.... A direct link to say a 'Word' or 'PDF' file so it can be downloaded, read printed at leasure
- Or.... Some other way I haven't thought of yet? (suggestions welcome)

I can't speak for others, but what might be a good compromise with the stories, is to post the beginning of it on the Board, enough to whet the appetite, and then add a click through so readers can read/download the rest.

Funny how 'literary' my various chat lists have become ;D I'm on one where we were talking about books so eagerly we decided to have a mini 'book group'. Not everybody is participating, or not fully, but some say they will listen in out of interest. The first book chosen was 'Gone With the Wind' - quite a big book to start with, but I'm tickled by the thought of knowing other people are reading it at the same time :-) Then suddenly I get this mass email from Ann saying there's a writing forum here - makes me wonder if there's something in the water! Will have to pop in sometime if I've got time. Happy scribbling.

Xinzerella,
How about adding your "flower arrangement" to the new Forum. It makes me laugh everytime I see it and it's very clever. I'm sure you probably have one or two other things up your sleeve too that we'd enjoy!
