Rita and her daughter Lisa, who post here as Chalmers Cats, managed to find time to come and stay for a couple of days. It was their first visit, so they hadn't met the boys before. Dracs soon made himself at home. This is him with Lisa. Spock also took to her and, to my surprise, when we got back from the meal we had at a local pub, settled himself down on her lap for the rest of the evening. Afraid I don't have a picture of that though. We made the most of the sunshine and took ourselves off to the beach this morning. The tide was just on its way out. They should be home by now, but we're hoping to get together for longer later on in the year. Ann

I have to say now that neither mum or i are very photogenic!! We hate getting our photo taken so thank you very much Ann!! We had a fantistic 2 days. The boys are wonderful - so laid back and very well behaved in front of guests. I think Spock was trying to make Ann jelous by sitting on my knee as he stared at Ann all night! We want to thank Ann again for making us feel so welcome - we have a wonderful time. We will back to visit soon, i promise!! Lisa x

We think Rita and Lisa have been very well trained by some other cats. We loved having them to stay in our house. Dracs got very comfortable with Rita over breakfast and Spock really took to Lisa. He did feel the strain of keeping his eyes open all the time so's he could stare Ann out though. (He didn't think Lisa had noticed.)
They can come again any time!

It was great to see you both again. Tell Hannah and Anthony (the rescue cats Ann and I have "adopted" and who are fostered by Rita and Lisa), that, all being well, we should be coming up to Falkirk again soon.

Lesley,
Dracs is amazing. Everyone who comes here falls in love with him. I don't think it's possible to cuddle him too much.

Lesley, Yes, I see it....I've had my eye on it since Ann posted a shot of it previously.... One of these days, we'll see it from that beach (we've been talking about making the trip across the pond for quite some time..Deb's never been to England and has always wanted to go, I haven't been over in close to 20 years..)... Miles and Deb,
The lighthouse is on a tiny island called St Mary's Island. It's cut off from the mainland at high tide, but at low tide there's a short causeway you can walk across.
The lighthouse itself stopped being a working one some years ago, but it's now a natural history site. You can go inside and look around and even climb to the top.
The three of us will certainly give you a warm welcome if you can make it this far north! (If you can stay for a while, I'll also arrange for you to see a PDSA clinic, so's you can see what you've been supporting. You'll be very impressed.)

Well we got back safe and sound, we knew we were back in Scotland because it’s colder than Whitley Bay beach. As Lisa has already said we had a great time but no one would speak to us when we got back ALL EXCEPT DARCY AND HANNAH who wanted to know what presents we had brought back. Tell Jen Jamie was playing hide and seek with us, he was no were to be found when we came in and I was getting worried till I saw a rumbling from under the throw on the sofa and suddenly he jumped out all excited. Within ten minutes everyone was gathered round listening to stories of Spock and Dracs and the longhaired Bimbo’s from next door. All stood in wonder at the story of the bird that took raisins out of mommy’s hand, we had so many questions , DID ALL ENGLISH BIRD’S DO THIS? WHY DIDN’T YOU BRING IT HOME? WILL ANN BRING ONE WITH HER WHEN SHE COME UP TO VISIT US? Anthony our own Siamese was not imprested and didn’t want to hear the stories and lay with his face firmly against the radiator with his ears twitching every two minutes. So thanks again Ann. Had a great time, see you soon. Rita

Rita,
Tell "everyone" I can ask my resident blackbird if he fancies a trip to Scotland, but I think I can predict what the answer will be!
So Anthony had a true Siamese sulk did he?! I hope he's speaking to you again now.
If you can get Jan to take a couple of pictures, I think Jamie deserves a thread all to himself. He's an extra special boy.
