Some of the recent posts have had me wondering about the ways our cats interact with each other. When they first came to stay with me, I used to be startled from time to time to see Dracs amble downstairs with the fur on one ear all over the place. Spock has a habit of washing his brother's ear when they're curled up together. But he only ever washes one of them. The effect is quite comical. Ann

LOL Ann! How sweet!! Gives a new meaning to the hairstyle 'cat's lick' (that was so popular with babies in the 50's and 60's!) Bella, Liffey and Pie do enjoy a mutual 'wash-in' several times a day. They rarely 'argue' although sometimes Liffey's over-zealous play gets on the other's nerves. He's twice as big as them and very heavy, so they fail to see the amusement in his games of leaping on their backs from a height. They do use typical cat communication of giving each other a good sniff up the rear end, especially if one of them has been out. They like to know where he/she has been, and I suppose they are just double checking that it is their sibling, and not a look-a-like imposter! I'm just glad that humans don't have to do that to each other! Maria
