I was changing out the strings on my 12-string...always a bit of a time-consuming task, but made oh-so-much "easier" with Bailey's uuuummmm...."assistance"...I'll usually just change them one by one, replacing one with a new as I go, but every 3rd or 4th string change I like to remove them all so I can give the guitar a thorough going over, clean the fretboard, etc.. Bailey was his usual "cheerful and ever-helpful self"....alternately climbing all over me, all over the guitar, knocking bridge pins off the coffee table onto the floor, batting some under the sofa (twice..), grabbing and snagging the cleaning cloth as I wiped...he kept climbing up on the top and peering down into the sound hole, sticking his paw tentatively inside as it became more accessible to him - I just ~knew~ where this was going. I got all the old strings off, got it all cleaned and wiped down, set it down to go into the next room to grab the camera and this is what I found when I came back...   oh no...I've got a meezer shark in my guitar...!  He kept popping his head slowly out and ducking back down inside...had me laughing soo hard I could hardly get the shots... What a great series of pictures. If it's OK with you, I think Bailey could begin to feature prominantly on the Catsup postcard page next time I have a session making new ones.
Just out of curiosity. How long did it take you to change the strings and clean the fretboard before Bailey moved in. And how long did it take this time, with Bailey's active assistance - including the break to take the photos of course?

What's next Miles? A spot of work on the car perhaps? Bailey inspects the cylinders for signs of bore wear and checks out the exhaust system.

Wonderful pictures. Typical inquisitive cat. Aren't you just glad you haven't got a drum kit or a piano, just think of the scope Bailey would have then.

drum kit and piano......uuummm...I have both of those as well (I was a percussion performance major in college)...the apartment building we're currently living in is not conducive to the drums, so they're unfortunately packed away...he'll get his first taste of those when we move.....the keyboard is out however, and Bailey has already discovered that...lol...!

Meia, Thanks very much for the translation...! We had figured (in a very rudimentary way, as neither Deb nor I speak Spanish) that it probably meant something to that effect...! We're still having a bit of a problem with our "English-to-American" translations: "i think la spook said that bailey (also her favourite tipple) cuts a dash in a ben turpinesque way!!" ok, this one has us stumped....! I got a bit confused with this one too, mostly because I was muddling Ben Turpin up with Dick Turpin, the 19th century highwayman! (Perfectly reasonable really when you consider that all Siamese are capable of highway robbery.) A quick check on google has revealed that Ben Turpin was a silent movie comedy actor famous for his crossed eyes.

Sorry, I didn't realise the other phrases were peculiarly British! Us Brits can have similar problems when we're looking at US websites.
A "tipple" is just another word for a drink, specifically an alcoholic one.
"Cutting a dash" really just means doing something with style or panache.
