I'm almost certainly guilty of copyright infringements here, so please don't tell on me! There was a double page spread in my paper today about artist Susan Herbert. She takes famous paintings and reworks them with cats as the subject. She uses her own cat and those of her friends as models. Here are a couple of examples. I liked the comment that goes with this one, "The moggy model is an improvement on the Dutch master's original, who lacked a colour co-ordinated tail to drape over his lace cuffs and embroidered finery." Don't you just love the ears sticking out of the head covering! Ann

Ann, I also liked the Vermeer and the Van Gogh. (Yes, we have the same paper too!)

Linda,
It was hard to pick out the ones to put on the Board! If members would like to see others, I'll scan in some more and add them.

Hi all! Iggy and Bowie are fine artists also. They have created their own art gallery with some takes on famous paintings, plus some originals. Please let me know what you think: <br> Iggy and Bowie's Art GalleryChristina

What wonderful pictures! I have a little book with a similar theme, called 'Arty Cats' by Vicky Cox and David Baird. It contains images of famous paintings 'invaded' by cats, so the Mona Lisa is stroking a tabby cat on her lap and Monet's poplar trees have several cats climbing the branches, and so on. A humerous commentary is alongside the 'paintings'. It's good fun and very well produced. Maria

Maria,
I love the sound of that! Do you know if it's still in print?
