It's a Dog's Life!

I opened my paper this morning and saw this.



Am I the only one who thinks the poor dog looks absolutely ridiculous? Talk about stripping him of all his dignity (as well as his coat).

And speaking of dignity, can you imagine a cat's reaction if you tried to do anything like that to his/her fur?!!

Yeah, we couldn't agree more. We watched it last night. I guess that's the fatuousness of modern society for you, especially when you see a cat that has had her fur NECESSARILY shaved for an operation to save it's life following a car accident, its hairless body covered by the arm from a pullover to keep it warm and still with the spirit to purr when cuddled.

I agree with you ! Adog shouldn't have to go out in public half naked!!

I said it was a collection of moving powderpuffs. I think this is a very good example of a dog used as a fashion acessory

I hope I don't offend anyone, but that's the reason I've never cared for dog OR cat shows....the fact is, they're NOT about ANYthing that benefits the breeds...it's all for the "glorification" of the people breeding/showing them...and that, to my thinking makes it nothing more than animal exploitation...I feel sorry for these animals...and especially sorry for the ones who didn't make the "show" cut......

I think there are some cats and dogs who actually enjoy the atmosphere of the Show, take it in their stride and that's fine. Pets and owners both get something out of it.

It's the ones who are clearly stressed and not temperamentally suited for showing that I feel sorry for. What are their owners thinking of, subjecting them to it? That's not responsible pet ownership in my book.
